12. Stonehenge
The Stonehenge is one of the wonders of the world so it is a must that you visit this prehistoric monument when visiting England. It is located eight miles north of Salisbury and two miles west of Amesbury. Stonehenge is basically the remains of a ring of standing stones that are set within earthworks, built about 5,000 years ago. The purpose behind the monument still remains a mystery and the builders are not even known.
