8. Parthenon Acropolis, Athens
The Parthenon Acropolis in Athens is also a popular tourist attraction. Located in Athens, Greece, the temple is built in honor of goddess Athena, considered as the patron of the people of Athens. The construction of the temple started in 447 BC during the height of Athenian Empire’s power. These days, the site attracts millions of tourists from all over the world who will travel up to Greece just to witness this spectacular site. In order to prevent any further damage, the temple is now surrounded by a low fence.
