14. Hawkes Bay
Hawkes bay is a region on the east coast of New Zealand famous throughout New Zealand for its excellent wines, primarily red wine. Napier and Hastings are the two important towns of the region which were razed to the ground in the 1931 earthquake. Today Napier is famous the world over for its art deco architecture. The Maori New Year is celebrated with great pomp and show here in the Hawkes Bay region.
