4. Guan Yin of the South Sea of Sanya

The Guanyin of the South Sea of Sanya is located in Sanya, Hainan in China where it stands 108m or 354ft tall. The statue has three aspects; one side faces inland and the other two faces the South China Sea and the reason for this is to represent blessing and protection of Guanyin to China and the whole world. This is currently the fourth tallest statue in the world which took six years to build and was completed on April 24, 2005. Today it has been the most visited sight of Buddhist groups from all over the world which is treated as the pilgrimage location of this religion.
