4. Zermatt and the Matterhorn
Zermatt is a beautiful Alpine village where cars are prohibited. It is famous for its breathtaking sceneries and its close proximity to the Matterhorn. The village has steep slopes which used to intimidate hikers from scaling it. The first ever successful attempt was in 1865 and after that, many more brave mountaineers have made it towards the famous mountain. The area is no doubt, the most beautiful place to visit in Switzerland. While the accommodation in this village is a bit too expensive, it is definitely worth it.
