5. Panteon Nacional
It is an imposing monument with mountain background, where the remains of several famous Venezuelan heroes are kept. It not only houses the remains of Simon Bolivar but it also houses the remains of Manuela Saenz, a woman that became popular as the major precursor of Venezuelan independence. The entrance is free and stands very close to the Plaza Bolivar, the capitol and the cathedral. The original Pantheon is a restored colonial church with a brief account of people and events that matter in the history of Venezuela.
